0710, Sun, 052911. We made a move yesterday morning but hardly worth mentioning. We simply left our little bay, rounded the point, and voila. We had made it to our destination. This one was a bit tricky to enter. To enter Puerto Los Gatos we followed the given way point and entered between two hidden reefs, one on each side. Once into the bay you don't get to relax there, directly ahead is another hidden reef. We had the choice of going to the left (already one boat there) or to the right and we went right. We had been told this was a beautiful little bay but the bees hang out in the southern area. We have seen a bee or two but not in numbers so far.
It is a pretty little bay although it has been too rolly to go exploring so we have stayed aboard. Being about a hundred feet from shore almost all the way around the boat it is like being right there. I happened to look out once and found a coyote walking the shore. We watched in amazement as he/she checked out the shore line and then retired in the shade under a bush. Later she was back checking the shore in another area. Fun to be so close yet so far away. Glad they don't swim.
The bay is pretty. Around the edges are big boulders, like lots of other places, but these have very soft edges, almost puffy looking. I had fun finding shapes in these rocks, like watching the clouds, finding all sorts of things. Sue thought I was being ridiculous. Oh well. We sat on the front of the boat enjoying the bay while eating a concoction Sue had made up, calling it ice cream. She had some yogurt left over and mixed it with chocolate and peanut butter and froze it. We enjoyed our treat while enjoying the sunshine and cool breeze.
Last night's feature stared Dustin Hoffman and Sean Connery and a younger guy, I can't remember his name in Family Business. The kid drops out of school just before completion of his masters degree. He hooks up with Grandpa (Sean) who has a long background as a thief. Dustin gets sucked into a scheme and they pull off a job. The kid gets caught and the whole thing turns into a big mess.
The interesting thing about the plot is why they were stealing the goods…..more later..
