0744, Sat, 020412.     Caleta Lobos.      It was a cold day without much sun, but somehow we managed with long sleeves and long pants.  The plan was to break loose sometime after breakfast.  Rock N Roll needed to get some fuel then we could head out.  While this was going on the wind picked up and we started doing the La Paz waltz.  We were pushed forward to the end of our line while the two boats next to us were pushed to the other end of their lines making for some close dancing.  Time to get the heck out of here!  With the hook up, away we went.  The tide was in our favor so we scooted right out the channel with a call to RNR that we were splitting early with another quick call to the Port Captain and we were good to go.  I saw the military sitting ahead along the channel and did a quick slow down letting a local fishing boat take the hit but it didn't look like anyone was home.  The military has been checking paperwork on boats coming and going from the channel but this time it was a free pass.

Once in the open we heard RNR calling the Port Captain.  They were close behind.  We gave them a call to see how the motor was running after the repair work that had been done on it. It sounded like there were a few bugs to be worked out, but it was still a go.  We pulled out the jib and turned off the motors to do a little sailing back and forth for some fun sailing letting RNR catch up.  I threw out a fishing line to drag a lure, now legal.  With the military around checking paper work I figured I was due to get a fishing permit which we purchased yesterday.  No bites but it was worth a try.  Funny thing; the permit was almost as expensive as our health insurance!

RNR caught up with us while we both had a good run up to Caleta Lobos, joined two other boats in the anchorage and settled in for a great game of cards.  One boat left the anchorage as we played on while we were joined by six others.  Still spread out around our small bay we all had plenty of room.  The wind died down in the evening for a beautiful night waking only occasionally to the distant barking of the sea lions.

Of course we hit the movie scene.  The latest season of Breaking Bad is playing.  Same ole crazy stuff here, making drugs and eliminating the competition without being eliminated themselves……more later..
