0720, Sun, 052012. Puerto Escondido. We were off for points north with anchor up and on our way right after breakfast. With almost no breeze we headed around the tip of the island and through the channel. We had about a twenty mile trip ahead of us, long for our current standards. With real flat seas it was easy going until the last stretch. The wind picked up pretty good there allowing us to unfurl the head sail and do a little motor sailing the last few miles.
Along the way we saw a whale. I happened to be out on the bow checking out the sights when out of the corner of my eye I saw a different looking little ripple. He/she was taking it easy, no breeching, simply breaking the surface. They move so slowly. When it was his final dive to the bottom he flipped up his tail, then he was gone, hardly a ripple.
Back on the mooring in the Waiting Room by noon, and right after lunch we made a quick run into the docks for groceries and dropping off our garbage, oh, and exchanging a few books at the club house.
Meanwhile, back on Neos:
Russ and Janet leave for their trip to the states. We aren't sure if they will be back by the time we leave, so it might be some time before we see them again. We wanted to say our last good-bye before they took off. We got together for a GREAT card game! Yep, the guys took the win. Two for two. We started thinking up all sorts of crazy ideas for new rules since the card tournament during Loreto Fest seemed to be in that mode. The second game we switched up the twos for the threes. Now threes are bad, 500 point against you for some. The twos on the other hand are good, they can be used as wild cards. Switching these two up doesn't sound like it would be that big a deal. Funny how set the mind gets.
We are almost to the end of the Sopranos. I think we have one or two more shows to finish up. I'm guessing the boss gets popped….no, no, don't tell me….more later..
