0644, Fri, 092713.  Rocklin, CA.

I missed a day, oops.  It has been busy around here.  I got home Wednesday eve after karate practice and was greeted by our niece, Jennifer, and her husband, Nelson.  They have just completed a backpacking tour around Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia area before heading to Spain to complete her education.  It was exciting to hear about their adventures.  They stayed the night so we got in some more stories about adventures in the morning over breakfast and then they were off.

We then took in the last race of the America's Cup.  We tried not to hear who had won but the news was everywhere so we knew the outcome of the race but it was really exciting.  The start was a dead heat but the US team made an error at the first buoy making a huge belly flop that looked to swamp the boat.  Amazingly it only slowed them from about forty knots down to the mid thirties.  I can't even imagine it.  We got NEOS to the mid teens several times and I can tell you, that is screaming fast in a boat.  The US team was determined and hung in there to take the lead on the third leg of the race and bring it home.  They came from behind needing to win nine races in a row to win the America's Cup.  Absolutely amazing.  The poor Kiwis were devastated and rightfully so.

The evening found us heading up to Auburn to meet with friends we haven't seen in years, Dave and Liz Honeycutt.  It was a lot of fun catching up with them, hearing about what has happened over the years in their life, and catching up on the Auburn stories.

So things are busy around these parts as we found our way back to our little home and enjoyed the evening movie (the crazy bunch on Desperate Housewives)…..more later..
