0752, Sun, 090113.  Rocklin, CA.

We spent part of our day running around the foothills looking at property and houses for sale.  We had a list in hand from our realtor.  We saw some nice places but nothing that simply jumped out at us, so the search will go on.

We finished our day with a visit to some friends, the people who got us started cruising.  We headed up to the Lake of the Pines to the Adamsons and had a great evening talking about some of the crazy things we did while out cruising.  It was fun catching up with them and their family, a great way to finish a day…more later..  Sue reminded me of our time in the morning morning spent at our local bank, Wells Fargo.  We ordered some checks at the end of July and they have not come in yet.  We were getting concerned since it had been more than several weeks.  We thought we would notify them, they would work out the solution, everything would be solved in no time.  This can't be the first time checks have gone missing in the mail.

After an hour sitting in the bank as the "customer service" guy talked on the phone we were being told that it was going to cost us 31 dollars to stop the use of these checks.  Our address has been moved around a lot lately so Sue asked where the checks had been sent.  Sure enough the address was correct but then she asked what apartment.  "105", our apartment is 1005.  Sue spoke up about the service charge once again and we were told that they couldn't reverse the charge but they would look into reversing some other charges to make it all come out equal.  We shall see.

Now the other charges were accrued when we wired money into the account from the sale of the boat.  Let me see if I have this right.  We give them a big chunk of money to use while in return they give us a measly interest rate while at the same time charging us for the privilege of it all.  Right now I feel I would be better off stuffing the money into a mattress.  Heck, I don't have a back yard to bury it in so I guess the mattress is the next best thing....
