0535, Sat, 112313.  Rocklin, CA.

 

It was a busy afternoon and evening for us.  It started out by picking Max up from school, another minimum day.  We headed over to the big shopping mall close by just to hang out for the afternoon, maybe get a cup of hot chocolate.  Fist thing we came across was Santa.  We tried to convince Max that he should wait to visit with his parents but he was pretty sure he wanted to do it now, so we got in line.  There weren't many people ahead of us but it does take a long, long time to get there.  Max got to thinking and figured that it couldn't be the real Santa because the real Santa is very secretive and busy this time of year so we got out of line to go do something else.  After wandering around a little we found the Merry Go Round where Max got to ride a big ostrich.  After, we found a great play spot right outside the Starbucks.  We got our drinks and Max took off for the climbing place, and climb he did.  He was all over that thing, through the holes and over the top.  He really enjoyed burning off some extra steam as Pops and Gams sat by watching.  After awhile we headed over for a quick tour of Toys R Us where he played with the wind up toys and the little wooden train set.  The afternoon was a hit for all of us.

We headed up the hill to our friends place just the other side of Auburn.  Although they had come to visit Neos several times it had been a long time since we had seen their place.  It has changed a lot since our last visit and we made it there just in time to get the royal tour.  We had dinner, discussed all the woes of the world, then headed down the hill to home…..more later..
