0758, Fri, 120613.  Rocklin, CA.

We got it.  No longer homeless.  It is located here in Rocklin about a quarter mile from the kids, close enough to be in the neighborhood but not like we are right on top of them.  We will have a big Oak Tree in the front yard complete with a swing made from a wooden board and ropes.  There will be plenty of projects to keep us busy.  So, here we go.

We had a walk to school yesterday morning despite the cold, so Sue and I layered up and headed over.  Max wasn't running around in a t shirt and flip flops so it must have been cold.  I remember as a kid never giving in to the cold.  Anyone who knew me back then would remember me wearing shorts year round.  Now I wasn't crazy, I would layer up on top with lots of sweaters to keep warm, ha.

A disturbing trend I have noticed lately in the news.  I will toss it out there and see what you think.  Last night we watched a great production of Sound of Music.  Although a great story one must remember it was the Nazi invasion of Austria that is the central theme.  Lately I have noticed some disturbing changes right here in our country that need notice.  We had a fugitive in the neighboring town a few months ago that brought in police from all the surrounding counties.  There must have been a thousand or more officers.  Then came the big guns.  They started showing up in armored vehicles.  I recently read an article that said the Federal Government is issuing these surplus vehicles from the wars over seas to the local departments, totally indestructible vehicles.  Then there was the article yesterday about New York.  They are mandating owners with weapons that can hold a clip with more than four rounds to show proof that they have modified them to less than four rounds.  The threat was confiscation or move the weapons out of the state all the while the local police departments are getting bigger and more powerful weapons.

In the light of the current flood of mass murders I can understand the thoughts, but let's not forget what happened in Germany.  Your thoughts????
