0740, Wed, 121813.  Rocklin, CA.

 

The other day we found another house listed just across the street from the one we are considering.  Across the street and just a couple of block further up but this one backed up to the big park area overlooking a stream.  It looked pretty good on paper and about the same price.  We frantically got in touch with the realtor and said we wanted to see this one.  She squeezed us into her schedule. 

It was a mess.  There were a lot of problems, starting with a swimming pool in the back yard that alone could suck up a bunch of money to repair it.  After about five minutes looking around Sue and I looked at each other and said no way.  We were sticking to the other place.

Yesterday we got together for cards with some old friends from Auburn.  They came down for the afternoon with lots of goodies to munch on and plenty to talk about.  As usual it was fun catching up but we missed one of them, home with a terrible cold.  We made a speaker phone call to try and raise his spirits.

It was grandkid day.  Michelle brought Max and Karissa over for a fun gathering.  Sue helped them make lunch bag reindeer.  Of course first off is a lunch sack.  Then they added antlers, cut outs of the shape of their hands.  Next came a fluff ball for a big red nose, some roundish tear outs of construction paper for the back of the eyes then a couple of those wiggly googly eyes.  Then to top it off they put little jingle bells around the collar.  They had loads of fun.  After, Sue and the kids snuggled in my big chair while Sue read a book to them.  It was a great sight to see the three of them giggling and laugh away.  The story was a real hit…..more later..
