0541, Sat, 011814.  Rocklin, CA.

We took a little road trip to San Jose.  It had been years since we had driven that route, an old route we used to drive every weekend.  It is interesting to see the fields turned to industrial buildings and houses, the parts of the road that used to be brand new, now old and time for repair.  Progress moves on.

We had a great visit with Sue's brother, Tom, and his wife, Linda.  Their son, Michael, was in and out with his busy schedule of school finals and visits to the gym.  Tom and Linda are both artists with their work all around their house.  It was loads of fun to simply wander and look at all the work, figuring out what might have inspired a piece.  They have a great workshop area in an old garage out back then the first floor is pretty much a big studio with a big table in the middle made from a huge chunk of black walnut.  Upstairs is the living quarters that they have made into a nice home, very comfortable.  The dog is now deaf and blind but manages to get around fine with a little bump here and a missed attempt at jumping on the couch there, but still seams to be very happy.  We had a successful visit and a great trip to and from, a good early weekend….more later..
