I started with the frame that will actually hold the glass. It turned out to be quite a challenge. It not only has to hold the glass in place, there needs to be a way to take it apart to change out broken glass. At the same time it has to prevent water from coming through as well as hold all the hinges and locking mechanisms. I came up with an idea, made a little three inch long set of pieces and assembled them. Found errors and made another. Then another. The third one, with some modifications, looked like it would work. I started work on the the real frame and found more modifications that were needed. By the end of the day I had the plan but ran out of material. Oh well.
Sue has been working on how to use the tile we have, making a border around the dining room, so we talked about that some. We will get some more tile for the center that will match the tile on the hearth. Lots of thinking on this day, the hard part. Now we just have to put it all together….more later..
