0752, Tue, 093014. Rocklin, CA.

We got the last few grommets we needed and finished assembling the hydro system. It had to sit for awhile to let parts dry so we waited until Michelle, Max, and Karissa came over for the test run. It did well. The pump was minimal for the height we had so we will be getting a bigger pump. It did spring a couple of leaks, one of the grommets leaked as I suspected but it was what the guy at the store said would work. That will be a quick fix with a couple of pvc fittings I think. The other leak was one of the ten ends on the big pipes. I ran another bead of caulk around the seam. We will see if that works.
Sue had an experiment with the kids that didn't quite work out like it did online. Some food coloring in a plate of milk, then add dish soap. It was supposed to mix all around but for some reason just sat there. Oh well, back to the drawing boards on that one…..more later.. PS Sue had started collecting acorns…..
