I completed the last of the shoji screens. They are now all complete and looking good.
I guess we did the right thing the other night for the holiday. We started a fire in our fire pit and roasted hot dogs over the open fire. Something about roasted weenies, they just taste so much better.
Spring must be coming, the geese are flying north. I haven't heard the migration in a long time. It was always a treat when building a house to hear the geese as they head north. I looked up their migratory route. Our geese seem to follow the Sacramento Valley up the coast from the border and then head right to the coast all the way to Canada and Alaska. Quite a trip.
Sue is planting some more ground cover in the back yard so I got out the pick and did some exercise digging up the spot. It is so entangled with bermuda grass root that it makes if very difficult to get the pick out of the ground. Good exercise though, in fact too good. Glad it was just a small area. Sue now has the tedious job of getting the roots out of the ground......more later..
