We had a great trip up to Grants Pass, Oregon for Sue's family reunion. It was the first road trip for Tess, the new van, and she ran perfectly up and back. We didn't caravan with the Blooms but kept in touch and stopped in the same spots along the way which the kids got a big kick out of.
The accommodations Sue found for the group, about thirty of us, was great with plenty to do during the daytime. Some went on a jet boat ride down the Rogue River while others headed to Crater Lake or the Oregon Caves. Meals were delicious as each group took turns putting their specialty together with plenty of leftovers for some great lunches the next day.
We came back the same way with the Blooms as we met for breaks along the way, a good time was had.
We arrived home to find our mystery plant in the back yard to be about ten feet tall with a beautiful sunflower at the top. It was a volunteer that sprouted and we simply let it grow. There was speculation it might be a giant thistle plant or something but it turned out to have a beautiful yellow flower at the top....more later..
