We had a great day. We headed up the mountain to Tahoe making a stop in Colfax for my free Starbucks coffee. Apon arriving at Tahoe City we stepped from the van and were hit by the beautiful scent of the pine trees. Sue and I walked through the little park there at Fanny Bridge so named because the tourists used to hang over the railing watching the fish below, showing their Fannies. Not may fish, in fact the river rafting is shut down due to no water flowing down the Truckee River and the lake is down from its usual height. We got hungry so headed over to our favorite spot, Jake's at the Lake. Delicious as usual, finishing up with a complimentary Hula Pie. This is a macadamia nut ice cream pie drowned in chocolate fudge and whip cream. We left waddling a bit with a walk around the trails that now line the lake then headed back home. What a happy birthday....more later..
