0914, Mon, 081715. Chicago, Illinois.

Our last day to tour Chicago. The jets were flying all around town but we only got little glimpses of them as the zipped past the openings between the buildings. The weather was great for a tour of the town and we were off to the "L", the Red Line in fact, would get us to our destination. We were to meet where Katy does some waitressing for a Sunday morning brunch. Jenny, Abby, and her boyfriend Luke were there at a table and Katy was ready to take orders. After a great breakfast we headed right across the street to check out where Abby lived then we headed to the "L" down town to catch the double decker bus tour.
The tour seemed to last a long time and I think it passed just about every street in town. We saw lots of sights and feel we have seen the whole place. Chicago has lots of great architecture and the river area is being fixed up with a riverwalk making it look really sharp. Of course the lake looks like an ocean but it is fresh water and they have plenty of it. After touring we headed over to the Hershey store to use our free coupon for a treat although we didn't have much time to eat our chocolate bars with the heat and humidity they started melting as soon as we walked out the door. Delicious just the same. We stopped by McDonald's for a much needed bottle of water then we were off to meet Katie at the dinner spot, a pizza place. We couldn't leave Chicago without checking out their well known deep dish pizza. It was very tasty and lives up to its reputation. From there we did our first Uber to the play that Katie had four tickets to since she writes a blog on plays. We were treated like royalty as they knew who Katie was right away and set us up in the front row with a complimentary glass of wine. The show was "Things you should never say after midnight". Quite funny and well done. After, we Uberred once more and headed back to our pad for a good night's sleep. We shall alway remember our great stay in Chicago....more later..
