Wow, California is really on fire. Thank goodness we aren't in harms way, but we are seeing lots of smoke.
Yesterday was a normal Sunday, a little bit of work on chores and a little watching TV. There is a crazy auto race on Sundays with little compact cars with lots of horse power that race six at a time around a little track that is mostly paved with a dirt section and even a hill/jump in the middle. They even have a short cut that is available for a one time option anytime during the race. It makes me think of some little kids race car game, quite amusing.
The gutter project: I was able to get all the tails trimmed off the rafters. First, I ran a line across, then marked the tails. I wanted to lop off the points so they have a more finished look. Then the hard part, position the ladder so I could hold the saw out on its side and cut a nice horizontal cut. The old wood is like cutting through a rock so there is a little forcing but not so much that you fly off the ladder as the blade makes it through to the other side of wood. I think a little sanding and some paint will finish them up good....more later..
