Sue was able to get the gutters primed the other day while I painted the rafter tails across the back of the house. Of course I started out with the wrong color but I only got half done before realizing it. OOPS!
Yesterday, after karate practice, Sue and I headed down to UC Davis to check out their Arboretum area. We got stuck in traffic at the causeway for about fifteen minutes but we weren't in any hurry so no big deal, just strange to see that much traffic on a weekend.
Getting around the campus in Davis was a struggle. GPS is useless since it doesn't have any idea which streets are closed. We found the walk along the river and enjoyed about half of it (a long walk) then decided to drive to the other end and come in from there. That's when we did a lot of wandering around town. Oh well, fun to see town. The walk is along a river which is the rain overflow for the area. The water is a solid green color but that doesn't seem to bother the ducks any. There were areas planted along the river with plants from different parts of the world and those marked with a star were supposed to do well with little water. Of course the huge lawns around campus were not marked with any star that I could see, ha. We wore ourselves out with all the walking but got quite an education on plants. It was a great way to spend the day.
Davis is a bike town anyhow but the ride along the paths would be worth a trip down there....more later..
