0653, Fri, 042310. Another nice morning in paradise.
We are still at it, waxing the boat. One entire side is done except for the bottom foot or so. We will get that when we are on the sand bar. It is real difficult to get that last foot at the bottom bending over the dink with the water splashing. Waxing a wet surface just doesn't work.
Yesterday evening was the first Happy Hour at the marina. It is real hard to tell just what is going on but it turns out that Happy Hour is from 3:30-6:30. That is quite a generous happy hour. There was a good turnout for the first go around. The rumor has it that maybe there will be happy hour every night, but then again maybe once a week, we don't know for sure. We all gathered in the pool waiting to see what was up. Finally Sue got the eye of the bartender and he came over to the pool to take drink orders. The specialty of the evening was Margaritas/2 for 1. Now let me try and explain how this works. There are no Margaritas with lime, but you could substitute tequila out for rum and they offered mango instead of lime, no salt. Still sound like a margarita? Next question, do you order one drink and get two, or do you order the two drinks? With the lack of Spanish it was real confusing and ended up like a routine from Abbot and Costello. Quite funny. It was lots of fun to hang out at the pool with a great crowd. Sue was busy going over southward anchorages with Tracy while I just milled around chatting.
Sue had bread rising back at the boat so we had to vamos. First stop with the dink though, was finding a hose that wasn't hooked up to a boat and fill a bucket with water. Then, as we were heading out to Neos we met the new people by shouting hello as we passed by. They asked which direction we were headed and want to get together to compare notes on destinations north. They are headed to La Paz, just north of Nuevo Vallerta.
Back at Neos it was the usual routine, set up the bunks in the cockpit, watch some of "24" and hit the sack. The bread, by the way, was delicious as usual. Tonight's feature was the special features and deleted scenes. Sort-a interesting but my eyelids were getting heavy……more later..
