0717, Fri, 051311. Welcome to Friday the 13th. Good luck to all. It is a beautiful morning here in La Paz. We finally connected with Bob and Jim. They had the day off from chores around the delivery boat and decided to head to town for a get together. There is a shuttle that runs every two hours from Costa Baja and they just missed their ride. They waited the two hours only to find out their watches were wrong and they would have to wait another hour. In the meantime, instead of waiting on the boat for a word from our fellow travelers, we headed into the marina and hung out at the little club house in there. The club is packed with books and magazines that kept us busy when we weren't chatting with other boaters. Eventually the crew showed up.
We headed out for a short walk and ended up at the Super Burro for lunch. It was a nice local place with the typical tattered laminated menus. The food was good and we enjoyed catching up on what is happening in our friends' lives. Bob and Judy were able to sell their condo in Santa Cruz, CA, so they are now living in Sonora full time with no mortgage or maintenance fees, whoopee!
After our chat and meal we headed out to Neos to play a couple rounds of cards. Jimbo got the brunt of the splash as the choppy waters hit the bow of the dinghy so he was pretty wet by the time we got to the boat. I got him a bathing suit to wear while his clothes hung on the line to dry. The cards warmed up with me taking the first round and Jimbo taking the win for the second, by then it was time for them to head back to Costa Baja. I was able to dink them to the beach right across from Neos and tuck in behind the big dock their in a spot protected from the waves. This not only made an easier run for me but saved them a dozen blocks of walking back to the bus station.
Movie time was once again Glee. They seem to get out of one set of problems only to jump right into another……more later..
