0709, Thu, 051211. The morning started out nice and calm. After breakfast we headed to town, our mission, to do a grocery run, but first, Jimbo and crew made it in safely. They were a bit later than they anticipated, having to go around Espiritu Santo instead of taking the Lorenzo Channel, but got into Costa Baja mid morning. We planned to connect with them after they had a bit of a rest.
The dink was dropped in the water and we headed to the marina with our bags of garbage, backpacks, and water jugs aboard. We checked in at the marina office and then were off to town. We had also brought the computer to catch up on business so first stop was the coffee shop along the Malecon for a cup of Joe and some computer work. Sue must have been feeling adventuresome. Instead of getting a cup of tea she ordered a TFreeze thinking it was a smoothie. It turned out to be a frozen coffee drink. Knowing how much she likes coffee I told her to trash it and go get another drink. She said it wasn't that bad and sipped away at it anyhow. Well, that did it. She was so wound up on caffeine she was buzzing all around. We had quite a walk to the grocery store, thinking we would try Casa Ley grocery for a change. It turned out to be a great store, everything we needed (except raisins). They even had a little deli spot where we were able to get a sandwich, ham and cheese, for a buck. It was such a good deal that we went there after shopping and got a couple more for lunch. It was time to head back to the ship. We were loaded with groceries. I could hardly lift the back pack. Along with the back pack (full back pack, not a day pack) we had two good size canvas bags filled, a day pack, more grocery bags and a flat of eggs. We haven't shopped like this in a long time. Taxi time, no way we were going to survive a walk back.
Back on the docks they have little carts to shuttle your stuff around so we commandeered one of those and filled the dingy. Before shoving off we filled our two water bottles and we were set to ride the rough waves back to Neos. Yep, the wind had picked up making waves that splashed us as they hit the bow of the boat. Once back at Neos we bounced around in the water trying to hang on to Neos, but not so tight that we banged the boats together as well. The groceries were transferred and the dinghy brought up to the davits and we were home once again, whew. All that was left was to store all the goods in the little cubby holes around the boat.
Sue is on the winning streak right now. Once again she won the card game although something happened to the scoring. Although I will admit to the defeat. I'm still holding out so I don't waste all that good luck on a lousy card game, it may come in handy later.
Movie time and we are still stuck on Glee. The crazy lives of students as well as faculty, they are all in a mess……..more later..
