0725, Fri, 120911. Caleta Lobos. We woke this morning to absolute calm, then we could hear the tell tale sound of the rising anchor. Rock N Roll was headed out. They need to get to town for some business and I am sure some provisioning. This will be the last day of work for the Mexican people as most take the next few weeks off for the holidays. We plan to cross paths with RnR when we get into town in a few days before we head back to the States.
It was a nice day yesterday as Sue suited up in her wetsuit for a quick scrubbing of the water line. Neos is all pretty once more. The water is cold when you first get in, but with a wetsuit on and working, it isn't bad staying in. Of course there is the getting out. Unfortunately for Sue the clouds kept the sun from shining so I put on some hot water to make tea. I am still in the varnish business. I sanded the stair toes leading down to the master suite and got the first coat of varnish on those. This should leave just the right number of days to get a few coats on before we leave finishing up most of the needed varnish projects for awhile.
RnR came over for the evening card game and we feasted on tacos. We played Russ and Sue against Janet and myself. Janet and I took those games, but when we split up later and played singles, Russ and I were fighting to see who could be the best loser. I thought I might have gotten the title at the end of the game being stuck with my pile of cards that are counted against me, included in the bunch two five hundred pointers, but Russ took the crown beating me out of last place.
We said our good-byes, made our plans to meet up in town Tuesday, and they were off. It was a very quiet night, I don't think there was a ripple. I can hear the birds this morning as they wake up to call to one another. The water is like glass and the needle fish are hanging all around the back of the boat. It is so calm I can see the rings in the water where the fish are touching the surface. It should be a nice day……more later..
