0820, Wed, 011112.     La Paz.     Today the wind is to subside maybe making for a little warmer weather.  They say we actually got below fifty degrees last night.  Thank goodness for those comforters.

We made another trip to town.  The shuttle, if it can be considered that, is simply a mini van with very little room.  I was last one in so I got the hard spot between the back seats after crawling in the back with no head room.  Oh well, there goes the back once again.

We did some hiking after being dropped off at Marina De La Paz and headed down the main road to the new Mega grocery store.  It looks like a few new businesses have opened their doors in the small shopping center with the theater getting ready to make its debut.  I don't know how some of the shops are going to manage to stay open, there are about eight or ten eating establishments.  We did our shopping, packed our back packs, and hit the road back toward the Marina.  We were told to be up at the old Papas and Beer sign at the corner at 1:30 giving us plenty of time to hang around.  We stopped in to the Hungry Burro for a bite to eat and then headed into the marina area to talk with Mike and Shelly about charter fishing, something Eric is interested in when they come down at the end of next month.  Then we went over to the yacht club and hung out there trying to soak in the warmth of the sun.  We headed over to the rendezvous with plenty of time for our shuttle but after waiting for about an hour he never turned up.  We decided to get the exercise and walk the malecon back to Marina Palmira, a hike of at least four miles.  It was a nice hike, we can use the exercise, but man was I pooped when we got back to the boat.

I almost came through in the last round to win the card game but no deal.  Sue is hot, on a winning streak.  We finished up our evening series at the movie, wow, they ended with a bang.  We think that is the end of the series, funny they would stop short like this, but if anyone out there knows, is Big Love still running?

Last night, the highlight of our entertainment was our Skype call back to the kids.  The connection was awful as usual, kind of like watching an old time movie with the stop action and black and white, but we managed to say hi to everyone and got a peak at the grand kids making our day….……more later..
