0750, Tue, 011012.     La Paz.     It has cooled a bit here.  We start out the day with our long pants and long sleeve shirts.  The sun is still very warm but the wind has a real bite to it.  The wind is up yesterday and today but we are just fine here in the confines of the marina.

Sue worked out the problems with our stay here in the marina.  In fact they had it all figured out by the time she went in to the office.  We are paid in full until noon on Thursday.  This should work out good with the weather so we won't have to fight the wind as we move through the narrow channels of the marina.

I'm still sanding.  The table is looking good.  One more day and it will be ready for varnish.  Sue has been writing books.  She makes a small book for our visits with the grandkids.  She used to make a book for every visit but that has gotten too pricey, especially with Karissa getting a book.  So the new idea is to do put together a book at the end of the year for each.

We headed out for a walk yesterday.  We thought we were going for a walk out to the end of the levy but found a locked gate.  Instead we headed into the hotel area and found a cage with about fifty little parakeets.  There was an Australian lady checking out the birds while we were there.  She was quite knowledgeable about the little guys.  Calling them Australian bungees she explained all about them.  They have become a pest in Australia traveling in great numbers and wiping out the crops.  This collection was quite colorful with bright yellows to chartreuse into the greens and a brilliant blue.  There were a few finches and canaries as well, quite the collection.

It was a slaughter at the card table.  It took us a few moments to get rolling but Sue had no problems.  With plenty of covers on during the night we were nice and toasty although it makes it hard to crawl out of bed in the morning……more later..
