0719, Sat, 042812.     Isla Coronados.     We stayed put as most of the other boats ran around the skinny peninsula to the other side.  The winds got up to the high teens where we were but we were fairly protected. We could see white caps just around the corner.  We did our share of rocking and rolling but nothing we couldn't handle, then during the night it calmed right down to give us a reprieve.  We are now sitting in flat seas.  It is predicted to kick up a little again today so it is nice to get a little break.

Yesterday afternoon, in the middle of one of those miserable card games, we got a call from Rich and Cathy.  The whales were breaching.  We dropped the cards and ran out on deck to see one of the most awesome sights.  A huge whale was coming straight up out of the water with about three quarters of his body out, then falling to the side making a huge splash.  On another jump he cleared the water, tail and all.  This went on for about fifteen minutes.  Simply incredible.

We laid low for the day, a little stiff and sore from our hike.  Yeah, we played cards for a bit then watched the Sopranos shoot one another.  We ended on a high note though.  Tony made up with his wife, well sorta.  She told him to go get snipped so his fooling around wouldn't lead to having a baby outside the family.  He hemmed and hawed around (very macho) and finally agreed it would be a good idea.  What about the idea of not fooling around any more?.....more later..
