0711, Fri, 052512.     Isla Coronados-north.     It was time to move on.  We had good sailing weather heading north and wanted to take full advantage of it.  Oasis was going to stick around Honeymoon Cove awhile longer and then duck back into Escondido, back to their mooring.  So we put up the sails and were off.  Well, not off to a roaring start, more like a float.  We were still beating the sea weed but just barely.  It looked like ripples on the other side of the channel so I crept in that direction.  It worked, but barely.  We were up to the single digits (1.5 knots).  Then it died.  The water had some good strong ripples just ahead so I turned on one motor for less than a minute or two and poof, we were in the wind.  We shot off to a high of 8.9 knots and were moving along nicely.  We made it clear past Nopolo and Loreto and were just at the entrance to the channel past the southern tip of Isla Coronados before we lost our wind again.  This made for a good fifteen miles of sailing making for a fun day.  We made it to our old spot, dropped the hook and were done for another successful day on the Sea.

We had lunch, did our siesta time, then played cards (I lost).  Then we thought we would go for a swim.  We had heard the water had cooled a bit since our last visit here.  Sue got out her flippers and snorkel only to sit on the bottom step and put her feet in the water.  Yikes, way too cold.  I didn't even try.

We were lounging around enjoying sundowners when a couple of neighbors came by to say hi.  Don and Kathy from Wild Rose came by to say hi and to tell us they liked our duck.  They had seen us on our last trip here and just wanted to check him out close up.  Ducky is a great pet!  They have been on the boat (albeit seasonal) for the past two years and plan to head south.  We told them to drop by today sometime and we could give them our two cent tour of where we had been.

Movie time:  the night's feature….back to an old TV show.  We have one season of Sons of Anarchy.  We had forgotten where we left off but it wasn't long before we picked right up.  A bunch of them were just getting out of prison (in Stockton?) and were right back into the thick of things.  Now the older members are starting to look at retirement which is leading them into dealing drugs for some fast, and big, bucks.  Lots of mayhem….more later..PS.  It looks like Hurricane Bud is going to hit just south of Neuvo Vallarta.  Good thing we aren't there this year.  Then it will bounce off the shore a little and fizzle.  No predictions of coming this far north at all.
