0703, Thu, 060112. Bahia Candeleros. After a restful night in the waters along the coast of Loreto we enjoyed a leisurely morning and were underway sometime after breakfast. No wind so we motored but it made a nice trip. We headed down to Puerto Escondido. It has been over a week since Russ and Janet had left for Texas so we were checking in on their boat. The area doesn't have any convenient anchoring so we decided to raft up. This was a first for Neos. We brought the two boats alongside, Sue jumped across, and before long the two boats were tied off as one. Katie cleaned off the solar panels as I headed below. Everything checked out A-OK and we were off before anytime at all.
We slipped away from our raft up without a bump and were headed south again to Bahia Candeleros. This stretch we had a little wind off the beam so we unfurled the jib but it didn't last long at all. The motor got us into Bahia Candeleros. Sue brought us in toward shore away from the group of boats that couldn't get in that close. Finding a great spot with five feet of water below us we had plenty of room. There seemed to be a little more activity around the big hotel on the beach but still it looked way too quiet for a place that big.
We enjoyed a little relaxing time. Katie got in the water and enjoyed what few fish there were swimming under the boat. We played some cards in the afternoon where Katie got a chance to introduce us to a new game. Dominion is a complicated game to learn but really has a lot of different strategies that could vary with every game you play. Of course I won so I really thought it was pretty easy, ha. We were surprised to find the day slipping away from us so we snuck in a couple of rounds of 64 and whadya know, I won the first round while Sue took the second.
Breezes are from the north today so we will be moving on heading south……more later..
