0658, Mon, 062512. On the run. Hey, we got our first rain storm of the season the other night. We could hear the pitter patter of the rain drops as they hit the deck. Sue scrambled up to her knees and closed the hatch above us and then we scurried outside to close the helm window and simply check to see if all would weather the rain in good order. Well, if it wasn't for the pitter patter one would never have known it rained at all. We didn't even get a puddle in the kayak on the trampoline. There is good reason everything is brown on the Baja.
I did get a great start to the morning. Sue had set the alarm for quarter to six and kicked me out of bed when it went off. I headed up to the radio to catch the six o'clock Formula 1 race. This time I had the time and the channel right so I caught the entire race. What a race. This circuit is known for little room to pass but this year they have found the formula for the cars. They were passing all through the race. Of course I like to keep up with the old timer, Schumacher. He started in twelfth spot and ended up on the podium for the first time since his return to the races. I bet there was some celebrating there.
Chore time: I did a little maintenance work in the engine compartment. Always trying to stay ahead of the rust, there was a little area I scraped and got a good coat of primer on. Just the usual keeping ahead of the environment.
Cards: Back to the same ole thing. I'm getting the cards and Sue isn't. I will have to remember these times since they will change at some point. We followed Baja up with 2 games of
Movie: A real dud. It was a series of cartoons about barnyard animals. We have seen some of the other cartoons and claymation done with this theme and enjoyed them so we thought this would be the same. If you get the chance to see this one, skip it
..more later..
