0651, Tue, 062612.     Bahia Marquer.     We are back to Isla Carmen, once again, after a stop in Loreto.

We dropped the hook after an early start out front of Loreto along with two other boats coming down from

Coronados.  We headed in to do some shopping and get some other things done while in town.  First off was the Fruit Store, but they didn't have much so we headed on over to the grocery.  Their produce section wasn't anything to rave about but unless you can time it to come on a Sunday I think the Farmer's Market gets most of the fresh fruit and vegetable business.  We hauled our groceries back to Neos and then made another trip into town.  This time we were headed to the Telcel place to find out how we go about paying for more phone (internet) time.  The lady there was real helpful.  We were going to head to the hardware store but it was already noon and we were to meet Jim and Jeannie at the Ole Café down by the old town plaza.  When we arrived we heard a call from across the plaza and Jeannie was waving her arms.  It seems that Jim cut the corner about an inch too close and picked off the corner of the planter with his fender.  This gave the local police some excitement for the next hour.  There were about five of them checking out the situation and poor Jim was simply asking what he was to do.  The excitement was about a rock that got knocked off the corner of the planter and had to be stuck back on.  One fellow could speak English well and was very personable but still didn't have any of the answers.  After checking with his boss he caught up with us at the restaurant and let Jim know he was to show up the next day.  They would arrange for the rock expert to show up and Jim would have to pay for the replacement of the rock.  No one knew how much that would cost, just show up some time the next day.  What a big to-do about a little fixit, but it all seemed above board and doable with an extra trip to town for Jim and Jeannie in the morning.

We did get to enjoy a nice lunch and then Jim drove us around the town while they got some of their chores done and we were able to sneak in a few ourselves.  Wow, not used to getting so many stops in during one afternoon.  Amazing how fast it is to get around in a vehicle.  We were dropped off right down at the water front, said our good-byes and we were off.

We headed across the channel and within a few hours had the hook down and we were settled.  It was hot so we took a nice refreshing dip in our huge swimming pool and then settled down for a game of Boggle.  We got a call from our neighbors on Manta, Terry and Dawn.  They both love diving and are in the water hunting all the time.  They were nice enough to give us a call to see if we wanted some fish.  Of course.  The dink was dropped in the water and in no time at all we were dropping by Manta for a howdy and a hand out.  How nice of them.

Movie time came around and we watched Charly.  Be careful with this one.  It is about a young mother who gets cancer and dies.  The other caveat, it must have been made by the Mormons.  It is all about Mormonism and their beliefs……more later..
