0703, Thu, 070512.     Bahia Marquer.     Not many people around these parts to celebrate the fourth of July.  We did our best though.  There are three boats in the anchorage, counting us, so we decided to have a get together on the beach.  One boat said they would consider it but they weren't much for socializing, they were a no show.  Joss, Mike and Deedee came though.  The four of us had a nice little BBQ over a little bon fire on the beach.  The wind didn't listen to the weather report and was blowing like stink when we left the boat but the spot on the beach was well protected.  In fact, too well protected.  It was down right hot!  With the setting sun reflecting off the water it was a double whammy.  We could have used some of that breeze.  But we enjoyed it at any rate.  We had a several pets hanging around for a hand out.  The seagull family was sticking close by; Mom, Pop, and the kid.  Heck, the kid was every bit as big as Mom and Pop but still had the gray feathers and followed its parents around making a little pathetic peep.  Getting close to time for giving that little darling the boot.

Getting back to our daytime activity, we got adventurous and took a ride into the beach, finally.  It consists mostly of little rocks, not much in the way of sand, but plenty of little shells and things to scavenge through.  I came back with a pocket full of treasures to add to the collection.  I did get my exercise.  I had pulled the dinghy up on the beach a little thinking it would do fine there, but as we were walking back Sue saw that our little boat had broken free of land.  It wasn't taking off for the deep blue but it was hard to tell if it was going to stay put so I had to jog down the beach before it could make up its mind.  I got there with plenty of time to save her from the rocks but a good thing I did my little jog, and good exercise as well.

Guess who won the card game, again.  Yep, I am still on a roll.

Movie time, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Jon Voight.  Pretty slow going.  I managed to keep my eyes open but I'm not sure why.  Go ahead and miss this one……more later..
