Just as planned, we woke to a nice calm morning with the sea lions barking at their outer island near the entrance to the cove. We got up, did our morning chores and then set off for Balandra. It was a nice smooth ride around the point into the next cove where we were able to set the hook in our usual spot. We puttered around the boat getting all the last minute things taken care of and then were off to the beach to meet our guests at 10:30. We waited anxiously, perking up every time a car entered the parking lot, but no guests. It was a busy day at the beach since this is the holiday week for the locals. We finally gave up around 11:30 and headed back to Neos. Sue got on the internet to find a message from our guests. Their child had gotten car sick all over the car, bummer. They had to turn back but were willing to give it another go in the morning. Keep those fingers crossed.
Sue put away all the food she had prepared to reheat later and we enjoyed a beautiful day at Balandra. The weather is nice and calm and after making water we enjoyed sundowners on the deck, a nice way to finish the day. Although we know the wind can really whirl through Balandra we decided to stay anyway. It did blow a little but only a little, enough to keep the wind generator busy for the night as we got a good night's sleep.
Oh, we did play a lousy game of cards although the score was real close all the way. Our movie last night was My Week With Marilyn. We tried to watch Lost Boys but gave up. It was going nowhere for us. My Week was about a guy, raised in upper class society, who wanted to make it on his own. He got a job (no pay) on the set of a movie with Marilyn Monroe being a "gofer" for the director main actor. She was sooo insecure to the point of being pathetic and this guy ended up being her confidante/toy throughout the making of the movie. True story
..more later..
