A very special day it is, Happy Birthday Ryan! Have a good one.
Our guests made it yesterday, the kids looking no worse for the wear. In fact they were quite the bundle of energy with a million questions while peeking into every nook and cranny on the boat. They weren't a bother, just curious. Lee and Amber seemed quite impressed with Neos and sound like they are anxious to go sailing. One last hurdle before committing. Lee has a slipped disc in his neck that is giving him some problems. He is signed up for a sailing lesson to see if that aggravates the problem more or if he can cope. So we wait for the next visitor.
They were a fun family to spend a beautiful day on the boat with, we enjoyed them. It was a perfect day to spend lounging on Neos, the sun was out, the breeze was only slight, simply a nice day. After dropping them off at the beach we decided we were too lazy to make the trip around the corner to Caleta Lobos so we stayed put in the windy hole of Balandra one more night. It was its usual self, it sounds like balls of wind that roll around the point, then come steaming through the bay with a blast of wind then gone, back to calm for the next few seconds while you wait for the next ball to come roaring through. In the middle of the night there was some activity on the radio but the person only called Pacific Mist, never adding their boat name to the call. Lights were being flashed around the anchorage but it looked to us that everyone was in their place safe and sound. There never was an answer to the hailing so I guess all is well. If they were having trouble in that small amount of wind I pity their future.
We drug out the cards for another miserable game then took in the evening movie. No Strings Attached was playing starring Adam Kushner. A couple tries being "friends with benefits" (sex). Of course that didn't work out, they fell in love. Good entertainment
..more later..
