0716, Sat, 041313.  La Paz.

It was a very productive day yesterday.  Since our FM3 had not come back from Mexico City we had to do like so many of the cruisers have been doing, head up to immigration and wait in line to get a permission slip to allow us sixty days out of the country, oh, and pay another fee.  This is all due to their slowness.  It is still looking as though the last people to apply are the first ones getting their FM3 back, obviously a matter of taking the next one off the top of the pile rather than the bottom.

So we headed out early in the chilly winds of La Paz, bundled up and headed to the docks for the long walk across town.  We made it in the door, the third in line.  The other couple ahead of us were the people we met through Rock N Roll from Oso Negro.  We have found that if you get there about eight you get a good number but they don't start helping the public until 9:30.  Now it looks like they bump us individuals behind any agents as well.  It looks as though it won't be long before they don't allow the individual any more, we have seen that in other countries.

There was a list on the wall of recent FM3 returns from Mexico City.  Sorry, Russ and Janet, you guys were both on the list, we weren't.  Finally, it was out turn.  We went to the window and explained we were leaving the country, we needed to apply for the permission to leave.  She smiled and said that a hundred cards had just come back from Mexico City.  She checked against a different list than what was out front and sure enough,                 WE WERE ON THAT LIST!  We got our FM3 cards back.  We are free!!!! Wooohoo.

On the way back to the marina we checked out our crazy bill with the modem (internet connection) at Telcel and got that fixed as well.  We were on a roll.  When we stopped in the chandlery along the way we bumped into Eagle and he gave us a ride back to the docks.  We really were on a roll.  We treated ourselves to an ice cream bar and then headed back to Neos.  What a great day.

In the afternoon Sue got the software on genealogy going for me and I worked the afternoon away catching it up to date, still more to do today.

The wind picked up in the afternoon and continued throughout the night.  We did get a movie in, This Means War.  This is a good action packed movie with two co worker spy guys competing for the same girl.  Good entertainment…….
