We had a beautiful day yesterday, nice and sunny, calm, no bugs. It was so nice we sat on the front deck in the evening just gazing through the anchorage at all the boats and chatting about family history. Then it all changed within a matter of minutes. First the boats started to do the waltz, going in all different directions, then the breeze picked up as well as the chop. Noisy night. We planned on heading to town today but we will just have to wait and see about that.
We got the outboard back yesterday. Sea Otter Jimmy brought her by the boat. We transferred it from his dink to ours and laid her on the tail and tightened the screws. I hooked up the fuel line, put in the key, and gave a pull on the line. Wow, it went so easy I almost fell out of the boat. She started up on the first pull. Nice to have a running dink back. He said it was pretty much clogged with salt, so much so that he had a hard time freeing the driveshaft without breaking it. All is well now.
We stuck around the boat so we could get the motor back and pretty much dwindled the day away on genealogy and scanning family pictures. I found an awesome document that transferred some land between two of my great grandfathers while in
Sue has been scanning family photos and putting them on line so her siblings can add to, explain who, as well as take from. Next she will tackle the Lloyd family. She has found ways to keep the scratches out of the scans and learned how to clean up old black and whites as well as the old color photos. Way kewl to see the old pictures.
No cards (whew, what a relief), just too busy havin' fun other ways. We did take in a movie, or tried to.
