0643, Fri, 071413.  Caleta Lobos.

Wow, what is with the weather in the US?  Tornados, Fire storms, now Derachos?  Derachos, I've never heard of them.  Here in Mexico if you want the taxi to turn right you say "a la derecha".  If you want him to go straight you say "a la derecho".  I've never heard of a straight wind in the states.  We get Chebascos or as they say in San Blas Panama, Chocosana (literally means Rooster Fart) but these things don't cover huge areas the size of the states.  It must be something that has happened in the past since they have a name for it already.  Whew, what a place to live.

Genealogy had quite a twist yesterday.  This one guy was married to three different ladies.  Now that may sound real easy to figure out but I only get a window into his life every ten years on the Census.  Then to add to that, one of the wives was married twice before so all of a sudden step kids show up with different last names.  If I'm lucky I can get a glimpse at the actual record book, but my connection is slow and that process stalls out more than is successful.  I lucked out with this guy and got the window.  In the actual record it asks the relationship to the head of household.  It isn't always accurate but that can usually be figured out too.  I did get stumped when one lady said wife, but since the brother was living there also I later figured out she was wife to brother, not head of household.  We won't even get into the handwriting.  I guess I should be thankful for even having the records.  Kind of like being a detective.

Movie time: more 30 Rock.  They actually had a funny spot in one episode last night.  Jerry Seinfeld made an appearance and the girl started talking like he does when he gets excited.  It was way out of character but really funny.  It must be me since Jerry wouldn't be making appearances on a dud show, oh well….more later..
