0724, Thu, 082213.  Rocklin, CA.

The furniture is almost complete.  Sue has even put a coat of varnish on most everything.  Today, all that is needed is a little more varnish on those that were last assembled and some clean up.  The doll family arrived in the mail so we are all set up for the weekend birthday party.  Wow, what timing, ha.

We finished up just in time to grab a quick shower, hit the library on the way to the store and pick up a few items there, then it was time to meet Sue's sister, Micki and her husband, Brian, to head out for pizza and some catching up.  The Alonzo Pizza place was a one store chain with lots of pictures of old locomotives around.  The owner looked like he was head chef and pizza assembler/server.  When he brought our pizza out I asked if he was the train buff and he said only here at the store.  So much for being into trains.

I knew a guy who was into trains at one time.  He spent his evening listen to old locomotives on his stereo.  He could tell them apart simply by their sound.  Now that is getting into locomotives.

After our pizza and a visit we picked up some much needed gas.  The little Chevy was almost out with the little indicator saying it was time to fill up.  We put in just over ten gallons, ha, a far cry from jerry jugging 300 liters back and forth.  It only took a couple of minutes!  Then we were off to Best Buy to look some more at TVs.  I'm not sure if we are learning more or not.  We now favor the older plasma sets.  They have a better picture but aren't as good with reflection, cost a few buck more to run, but are half the price as the LEDs.  ?????

Back at the movie house we opted for one TED Talk since it was late.  An incredible life story from a scientist who studied brain activity.  She had a personal stroke and told what it was like, from the killer pain to the euphoria.  She told an absolutely incredible story of the incident and is now completely healed after eight years……more later..
