Still at it with doll house furniture. It is coming along just fine, a little tedious but fun. One more day and the assembly should be complete then a coat of varnish should finish it up.
We made a trip to Toys R Us the other day to pick out a nice family to live in the doll house but it was obvious that a family of say four, six if you count grandma and granddad, and Caucasian is not politically correct. There is everything from Spanish to African American, from Super hero to wheel chair bound. We finally found what we were after on the internet but only after quite a search, crazy. Maybe we just aren't as exciting.
After a long day of furniture building it was time for a movie and a smoothie. We did some TED Talks and they were great. They must have done a magic session so we watched a couple of them, fantastic. One guy called himself a Mathemagician. He could come up with math answers faster than the four people on stage who had brought along their own calculators. He could square a number with two to three digits without hesitation. For his finale, he squared a five digit number out loud to show what is going on inside his head. He short cuts the process someway turning his answers into words so he can remember them, then refers back to the words after doing some other calculations coming up with the answer in less than a minute. Simply amazing.
The other short segment was about sixth sense computers. With a device that costs about three to four hundred dollars, made up of items that are available to anyone, cell phone, web cam, etc. they have put together a computer that recognizes your finger tips and reads what you want. You simply go up to a blank wall and it projects the images. It project on anything. If you want the time you simply draw a circle on your wrist and a clock appears. Really kewl stuff…….more later..
