0633, Tue, 081313.  Rocklin, CA.

We started the day checking out the news on the internet (maybe not such a good idea first thing in the morning).  Then came work time, ha.  My work is to get started building the furniture for the doll house.  I headed out to the shop.  The furniture is punched out of a soft thin plywood but not completely punched through.  It is a soft grainy material much like balsa so I was afraid of having splits and losing some of the detail so I started by running a knife around the edge and working with a Dremel to cut these parts out.  Then, almost by accident, a part simply popped out.  It looks like, if done carefully, that I should be able to punch each part out.  This will save a lot of needless dust and time.  There are a bunch of parts so I am trying to keep them in their respective piles.  First punch outs will be the items that get painted white, the tub, sink, and kitchen appliances.  I just got started and it seemed it was time for lunch already.  Sue gave me a ring on the dumb phone and I headed in for lunch.

After eating, we headed out for errands.  In our unpacking we ended up with a bunch of useless paper work, things like tax info and receipts that were now eight or nine years old.  We had a huge garbage bag full of these papers to shred.  The lady at the Wells Fargo in Auburn said they would shred anything you wanted.  They have a machine that eats staples and all.  Perfect, our first stop.

The sewing machine crashed again so it is back in the shop, the second stop on our journey, then we were off to the consignment store to look at furniture.  I expected a Goodwill sort of place but was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of stuff.  I would say it was more fun than a furniture store since they weren't trying to push one particular brand.  We saved lots of money by coming out empty handed but enjoyed it just the same.

We headed home for awhile and then on a whim we headed out to look at couches.  On our list to look was Costco and American Furniture.  American is right next to the Scandinavian furniture store so we stopped there as well.  There were lots of great things to look at but once again we were able to save lots of money.  We even got out of Costco without a thing in hand.  It was actually quite fun to doddle around the place and look at TVs (very confusing to us), cameras, even the kewl watches.

Time to call it a day we headed home to the cinema.  Playing was a real tough one to watch, the Tillman Story.        Who can we believe…..    more later..
