0740, Tue, 082713.  Rocklin, CA.

We started the day off with a trip to Costco and, of course, found several items, not on the list, that we just couldn't do without.  We now have little portable thermos type bottles for coffee or water.

We had an appointment about midday that lead us heading to Fry's afterwards, still studying about the whole TV thing.  After getting it narrowed down to a few items, we headed home to do just a bit more research on the internet.  I think we are ready to make the big purchase, of course the TV.  We have favored the old style plasma.  Yeah, they run on a bit more electricity but they are way cheaper and everything we have read says they have a better picture.  Then there is the speaker system at Costco.  It is a Vizio at about half or better of the price of the Bose with four satellite speakers instead of two.  Leading up to a complete set, we are looking at a blue ray player and an antenna.  Whew, that should do it.  Now to measure the car to see if all this will fit in the back.

To finish up the day, I actually made it back to my old karate class.  It was good to see the guys still hard at it and keeping the dojo running.  There are a few new faces around which is always good to see and some familiar people who just weren't there today.  Yeah, there are a few sore spots this morning but I think I  shall be able to live through it.  I was amazed at how the Kata (forms) came back.  When I tried to think ahead and remember the moves they just weren't there, but if I simply concentrated on the form, the moves came from somewhere in the subconscious, a great feeling.

I was greeted at home by Sue who had been over to the gym to do her workout as well as swim a few laps in the pool.  It was movie time and Sue had a smoothie all ready.  War Games was on.  It was a big movie in its day (1983) with lots of forethought into what was coming with computers and national defense.  Always amazes me how Sci Fi can pre-empt what actually happens.  A bit corny but worth the watch just to see what their thoughts were on computers and how fast we have changed into what we have today…..more later..
