We enjoyed a nice walk to school with Max in the morning. It hasn't gotten cold yet, still that perfect in between weather. A few of those trees have just started to turn a little red, just gorgeous.
We then stayed with Karissa while Michelle went with Max and his class on a field trip to the Police and Fire Station. We enjoyed a grand tea party with all the princesses we could gather for the occasion. I was a bit disappointed that we couldn't invite the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, nor even the Door Mouse (although I am sure he would have been asleep) but it was a grand occasion just the same. There were phone calls to invite, lists of groceries to be made and of course, princess costumes to be adorned. Somehow it turned into a birthday party for Karissa but we enjoyed imaginary cupcakes and tea and whiled our morning away in true party fashion.
Max aced his spelling test so they came for a visit at our place in the afternoon where we were ready with miniature pumpkins for our project. I made a little template and cut an opening for the mouth in the little pumpkins. The kids then cleaned out the seeds and inserted vampire teeth in the opening and completed the project with round headed pins for eyes. Just too cute and what a fun day spent with the grandkids.
It was karate night so time was spent sweating. I think we made a breakthrough with some of the younger students, always fun to see their growth.
We were on to a new TV series, House of Cards. It is a little troublesome getting to know the characters but a very well written show. I like the sidelines delivered to us, the audience, from Kevin Spacek. Recommended, check it out if you haven't already
more later..
