The last day of the year, wow.  Happy New Year's Eve.

We had a fun morning with the Bloom clan coming over for a visit and staying for lunch.  Sue had some projects for the kids all lined up.  They made little foam cut outs of penguins and snow men then soaked the little sponges we got them to watch them grow from a little cube into a wash cloth complete with a picture of Mickey Mouse on it.  The adults worked on all the problems of the world, solving all of them in a short time.  I really don't know why we aren't in charge.

I finished up the day with Karate with just three of us showing up, not unusual with everyone's busy schedule around the holidays.  Sue and I watched a movie to finish the evening up, The Reader.  It was about war time in Germany.  Kate Winslet plays an older lady who seduces a young kid in high school.  It turns out that she worked in the concentration camps and is later on trial when her young lover, now in college, is in the class that comes to her trial to watch the proceedings.  The young lover has the key to a clue that would lessen her time in jail but……..more later..
