Happy New Year.  Our evening was spent with a few friends.  We headed up to Auburn for a gathering of card playing, die hard, "64" card players.  Sue and I came in close to each other within five points, but sorry to say we were in the middle of the pack.  Oh well, not really there to play cards as to share time with friends.

We headed home in time to actually bring in the New Year here.  We watched the New York celebration at midnight and could hear a few around the complex letting out a whoop with some firecrackers going off around the neighborhood.

I must mention the drive up and back.  Being the celebration evening of the year I was leery of being on the road.  I declared myself our designated driver and really didn't see any bad driving until we got within a few blocks of home.  A car passed us, zooming ahead maybe just a little over the speed limit getting about a block and a half ahead of us.  I didn't think too much about it until he stopped right in the middle of the right hand lane in the middle of the block until we caught up and had to stop behind him.  After a couple of seconds he started up and being cautious, I lingered behind.  He was driving very slow and swerving from his lane into my lane.  I actually honked when he drifted half way into my lane and flashed the lights hoping to wake this guy up a little.  It certainly did, as we watched his tail lights disappear, weaving around traffic as he sped away.  Now for the zinger….This was a Rocklin Police Car……more later..
