0724, Fri, 012414.  Rocklin, CA.

 

More tearing down of the fireplace.  What I thought would take a couple of days to get from the top of the chimney down through the roof line went faster than I thought.  I was there with time to spare.  Sue helped out a lot with stacking the bricks as I tossed them from the roof.  Then in the afternoon I worked my way through the roof line and ceiling area into the downstairs family room.  This is a real mess with lots more mass as the chimney opens up into the after burn area and firebox.  The up side is, I'm no longer standing on the slope of the roof with little marbles of mortar under my feet.  The garage floor is almost complete, one more coat of paint it will be done, whew.  In the mean time, Sue has gotten the primer coat of paint on the cabinets and is readying for the final coat there….more later..
