We started out with a stop at the Bloom's residence to pick up a roto-hammer. Some of the bricks and block on the fireplace are glued together so well with mortar it is tough to get them apart with just a hammer and cold chisel. By drilling a few holes, it weakens the structure enough to get the chisel in there and split them apart. I've got the fireplace about an hour or so away from having everything down to hearth height. Unfortunately all the waist height work is done so it is all bend over work. That's progress.
After the Bloom's we headed over to Ryan's workplace and switched out the car for the truck, headed down to Restore and bought an old style roll up desk. The drawers are missing but it looks like all the tambered roll up is in good shape. As long as we had the truck we picked up the work bench from the garage at the apartment and filled the rest of the truck with "Stuff".
Sue did some weeding in the front yard and met the postman as well as Fireman Larry who dropped by to see progress and give encouragement. Another long day and more progress
..more later..
