On to the next project, kitchen. The upper cabinets are gone. It took some doing, especially trying to figure out how to bring them down without crashing them to the ground. One of my tool boxes came to the rescue. When put on the counter top below the upper cabinets, it left about an inch of air space, just enough to let the cabinet down a little. Of course there are always hidden nails hanging on until the end so it is always a challenge to find every last one. They weren't too heavy but I think maybe near the limit for Sue to grab the other end to lift them down to the floor, but she toughed it out and they now are down. Did I mention disconnecting the water to the refrigerator? There is a little fitting that looks like it taps into the side of the pipe. I used the tiny shutoff valve that was there but to no luck, it kept dripping. I thought I had the size figured out and made a dash over to Home Depot, but found it was too big on my return. Off again to Home Depot (oh I am so spoiled) for the right size. This time the cap was just right, stopping the drip.
The neighbors came over, Larry and Mitzi. They brought some delicious scones made with blueberries out of their garden. I think it was the official introduction to the neighborhood. We showed them all we had accomplished and they seemed quite amazed. They are original owners as well as two or three others in the near neighborhood. Very nice to get to know them.
We went to the library to do business and I checked out a very good book on Table Saws that I had taken out before. The new saw should be coming sometime this week so I need to find out what kind of blades to get. The book is full of great information on what to look for in a good blade
.more later..
