0738, Tue, 040114. Rocklin, CA.

We are both tired of working so we are going to take the day off….April fool.
Taping is coming along, all is done except the tube leading to the skylight. I have almost finished off the five gallon bucket of mud and will pick up one more to finish things off.
Sue is working on the restoration of the two desks we got at Restore. We got the big roll up into it's room but not without a few runs at it. We put it on end on the dollies so thank goodness we weren't under strain as we went back and forth finding the different obstacles. First was the thermostat on the wall, so we took it back to the living room and turned it around. Still couldn't make it so we passed up the door and came from the other end but this time the cut out in the desk was on the wrong side. We finally slipped it in when everything lined up, whew. Thought maybe it would look great in the family room there for awhile.
We have gone from cherry wood on the kitchen cabinets, very expensive, to paint grade. Sue had done some research and discovered chalk paint. It looks like we may go with a charcoal color with a wood top for the counter on the island cabinets and concrete counter next to the stove top…..more later..
