0622, Thu, 070314. Belfast, Ireland.
We are in Northern Ireland. It seems the "Troubles" have slowed to simply harsh talk between the two sides. North Ireland is a separate country but it is almost an invisible line. Ireland is separate from England but North Ireland is not. This is the divide. Some believe they should be separate and some don't't. There are still fences between the different neighborhoods but are slated to come down soon.
We had a great local guide give us a bus tour of the town then we headed to dinner across the street from the hotel in a very historic atmosphere at the local Pub. We had a great dinner with the Walsh Clan all at one table. Sue was able to sneak in a birthday cake and surprised me at the end of the meal.
Once again, a beautiful day, does it ever rain on the Emerald Isle?...more later..
