We had a good work day. The saw got a little fussy by the end of the day but we hadn't cleaned out the water pan since the get go so it was filled with silt to the point water no longer could get to the blade. Solar power is great stuff but it just doesn't have the same punch as the local power company on the grid. I think other things running deplete the system pretty quickly. Laundry was being done as well as the refrigerator. So we gave the saw a rest.
Phil put together a watering system that runs the water from the washing machine through a pipe to the front yard where they have planted some colorful bushes. Looks good.
We were going to play some dominoes last night but just as we were finishing up dinner we got a surprise visit from Bill and Leslie. We had a great chat talking of such things like maybe a goat on the island. Leslie is raising chickens now and is incubating the eggs until one of the hens is ready to sit on them for the final stage. She has a light box with a hole in the top to "candle" the eggs and says you can see the chicks inside. She wakes at all hours of the night to keep a constant watch and make sure the temperature is within a few degrees. What a dedicated mother.....more later..
