Monday, May 24

0714, Mon, 052311. We are in Puerto Balandra and guess what? It is blowing like stink. Every time we visit this cove it blows all night long, but we were to meet friends so here we are. We left La Paz after the morning routine and had a great sail up the coast with just the jib out with ten to fifteen knot winds. We came into Balandra and found a couple of other cruising boats tucked into the corner where the guide book says to anchor leaving us wide open to chose a location in our favorite spot. The afternoon weather was absolutely beautiful after a cold ride up the coast. Yes, we were actually cold coming up. The wind comes across from the Pacific and has a real cold feel to it. We were huddled in blankets as we sailed along.
As we enjoyed the great weather in the anchorage our friends showed up. I had been downstairs checking my eyelids for leaks after a great lunch when I came upstairs and asked Sue if we had any new neighbors. I looked out and there was Amizade. Naomi and Andrew had just dropped the hook. We invited them over and since it is difficult to lower their dinghy we dropped ours and I went to retrieve our friends. We haven't seen them in some time so we had plenty of catching up over fresh strawberries we dipped in chocolate, yum. They will be heading into La Paz and we will be heading further north so we will be catching up with them sometime down the road.
The nightly movie time was upon us. We are just starting the second season of Glee. Nothing has changed, everyone still has their problems, and we are enjoying the show…….more later..
