We had a great sail from our last stop in Caleta Lobos across the San Lorenzo Channel and up to Ensenada la Gallina on Isla Espiritu Santo. Jim took the helm to bring us into our bay and pointed out the stingrays as we entered. It was a little rough finding a spot where the anchor would hook but we finally managed.
Our afternoon was nice and warm so we all took a swim off the back of the boat and cooled off in the still chilly waters. We could see the sandy bottom just by looking over the side of the boat some twenty feet deep and were able to watch the fish swimming around the bottom. We were trying to see if there might be a scallop or two to add to our small collection, ha. We have been enjoying our catch. Jimbo cooked up another batch of mussels last night and I think we have one more batch left in the game bag hanging off the tail end of the boat.
Cards, what can I say? I was doing really well, way out there in the lead, until the one bad hand hit with fifty points. Did I mention, I hate that game.
Once again we sat outside as the full moon came up over the mountain that juts up right from the water's edge. What a nice evening as we thought about those back home in California with their hail, snow, and fireplaces lit. It's rough in these parts…..more later..
