0645, Wed, 121411.     La Paz.     It was a busy day for our last full day in Mexico.  We had made reservations for the shuttle into town but I'm not sure why.  The shuttle, a seven seater mini, minivan pulled up and eight people and a dog piled in.  No asked if anyone had a reservation.  Sue ended up sitting on my lap in the front seat with her head on the dashboard, crazy.  We headed into town and found Russ and Janet at Marina La Paz.  We offered to put their air conditioner in our storage locker for them.  It fit in the locker without a hitch since Russ had it packed up in a big plastic tub with a lid.  While Russ and I were busy at the locker, Sue and Janet ran down to the Telcel place and found that our phone connection was all ready to pick up.  Sue told her to put a hold on it until we get back from the States.   The four of us then headed down the main street and checked a few places for the nut Russ needs for his outboard, dropped off our radio, and checked out the supply shops for varnish.  It is really hard to find satin finish varnish here.  Russ and Janet were heading down to the hospital to check on a friend so we said our good-byes for now and headed in our separate directions.  We had an hour to kill before the shuttle came back to pick us up so we had lunch at the Super Burro.  We tried to remember afterwards what my meal was called but of course forgot right away.  It was super delicious, a pork with spices and grilled on a taco.  The shuttle got us back to Marina Palmira about two so we had plenty of time to get chores done closing up the boat.  Kevin and Terry came by and our time turned into one last card game before saying good-bye to them.  We tried to put one last coat of varnish on the table but it was getting dark and in the rush it turned out very poorly.  Looks like a lot of sanding when I get back.  I think the varnish was too thick so it didn't spread well and left a bumpy surface.  Oh well, so much for letting it set up while we are away.

The family is really in crisis on Big Love with everyone trying to go their separate ways.  The just go from one jam to the next.  Crazy……more later.. much later!  We leave in two hours for a day of traveling.  We will return to the cruising life in 3 weeks.
